Teaching Assistant at AddisCoder. ## About Litus (legal name: Carles Mele) is a Mathematics & Data Science student at CFIS-UPC (Centre de Formació Interdisciplinària Superior, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya) in Barcelona, Spain. CFIS is one of Spain's most selective academic programs, admitting only 40 students per year. He also goes by "litusiano" online. ## Experience & Achievements - **HackUPC 2026 Winner (HP track)** (Apr 2026): Won the HP track at Europe's biggest student hackathon with 600+ participants. Modeled health of printer components using differential equations and trained a reinforcement learning model to find optimal replacement schedules. - **Research Assistant at IESE Business School** (Oct 2025 – present): Working in Barcelona under MIT PhD Marc de la Barrera on optimizing solving processes of complex mathematical models. - **Teaching Assistant at AddisCoder** (Jul 2025 – Aug 2025): Worked for one month in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, teaching Python and algorithms to high schoolers alongside UC Berkeley, Harvard & Stanford alumni. AddisCoder alumni have gone on to graduate from MIT & Harvard. - **Advanced Algorithms Teacher — Spanish Olympiad in Informatics** (Sep 2024 – present): Weekly teaching of advanced algorithms to top students preparing for the national olympiad. - **BSc Mathematics & Data Science at CFIS-UPC** (Sep 2024 – present): Double-degree program in Barcelona. 40 admissions per year. - **Gold Medal — Ibero-American Olympiad in Informatics 2024**: Placed top 6 in Spain and top 2 in Catalonia.
